DMAA Registered as Continuing Education Provider for CPAs WASHINGTON, D.C.—The DMAA this week won approval from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a registered provider of continuing professional education (CPE) credits, which it will offer at the Dec. 3 to 5 Disease Management Leadership Forum and other DMAA events.
The NASBA's approval of DMAA as a registered sponsor on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors follows last month's announcement that, for the first time since its inception, the DMAA will offer health care executive continuing education through a three-year agreement with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
The NASBA maintains its registry as a resource to help state boards and their licensees identify high-quality CPE providers—organizations that provide CPE in accordance with nationally recognized standards. Most states require CPE for certified public accountants to maintain active licenses.
With the NASBA decision, the DMAA further bolsters its position as a leading provider of education for the diverse disease management and care coordination community, DMAA Executive Director Tracey Moorhead said.
"We're extremely proud to be recognized on the NASBA registry," she said. "Disease management and care coordination span many disciplines, and the DMAA is committed to serving all stakeholders. The NASBA approval and earlier ACHE decision reflect that commitment."
In addition to the continuing education (CE) offerings recognized in the recent approvals, the DMAA also offers CE for physicians; nurses; pharmacists; psychologists; social workers; alcohol and drug counselors; marriage and family therapists; and case managers.
