Illinois Researcher Joins Disease Management Association's Staff

WASHINGTON, DC—The Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) today announced the addition of an accomplished health care researcher and statistician, Jeanette C. Nolting-May, M.P.H., Ph.D., to its staff as Director of Research.

Nolting-May joins the DMAA as the organization launches an ambitious research project to survey the disease and care management community on methods for measuring and evaluating outcomes, and build consensus on a uniform assessment methodology.

"Jeanette was an outstanding candidate for this position and particularly well-qualified to take on the research director's responsibilities at a crucial juncture in the growth of our organization and the entire disease and care management community," DMAA Executive Director Tracey Moorhead said. "We're extremely pleased Jeanette will join our staff."

"These are exciting and challenging times for the disease management community and I'm looking forward to my role in demonstrating the value disease and care management programs add to patient care," Nolting-May said.

Nolting-May most recently served as a faculty member and senior researcher at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. There, she directed a $3.2 million, four-year Chronic Disease Management federal grant and a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Arthritis Comparison Grant with an $800,000 budget, among other projects. Other positions have included lecturer and curriculum developer at Judson College, in Elgin, Ill., and senior research analyst at AMCORE Financial Inc., a leading Midwest bank based in Rockord, Ill.

Nolting-May holds a doctorate in organization and management from Capella University. She also has a bachelor's degree in communications from Illinois Benedictine College, a master's in public health from Northern Illinois University and a certificate in public health informatics from the University of Illinois.

Founded in March 1999 and based in Washington, D.C., the DMAA is a non-profit, voluntary membership organization that represents all aspects of the disease management community.
