Disease Management Association of America WASHINGTON, DC—The Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) is pleased to announce the additions of Carl Graziano, Director, Strategic Communications, and Peter Alan Farmer, Director, Finance and Administration, to its staff. "The DMAA is fortunate to gain the experience Carl and Peter bring, and we look forward to their contributions as disease management and the DMAA continue to grow," said DMAA Executive Director Tracey Moorhead, who joined the DMAA in August 2005 after serving as Executive Director of the Alliance to Improve Medicare. Graziano joins the DMAA after nearly 13 years as a communications manager for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), in Washington, D.C. At the CAP, Graziano performed media relations and publishing work—both print and electronic—and a broad variety of other communications activities. "I'm extremely pleased to join the DMAA, especially at a time of so many positive changes within the disease management community," said Graziano, who holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and worked as a reporter and editor at several newspapers before joining the CAP. Farmer joins the DMAA after serving as director of finance for other non-profits in the Washington, D.C., area, including the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and Self-Help for Hard-of-Hearing People. "I'm looking forward to working in an area of health care that holds so much promise for improving quality and cost-effectiveness," said Farmer, who received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southeastern University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland. Founded in March 1999 and based in Washington, D.C., the DMAA is a non-profit, voluntary membership organization that represents all aspects of the disease management community. # # # |
